In less than a week three capsule collection cured by famous top models had been announced.
The first is about Kate Moss. The supermodel has teamed up with French label Equipment to create a summer ’16 capsule collection featuring signature Moss looks: laidback shirts, crisp tailoring, ’90s slip dresses and plenty of animal print. A collab with a lookbook photographed by her friend Daria Werbowy, as well as a video featuring Susie Cave. Continuing next season with a wider collection.
The second is the capsule collection Gigi by Tommy Hilfiger. The internationally renowned model Gigi Hadid will appear as the brand ambassador for Tommy Hilfiger women’s beginning Fall 2016. As part of her exclusive ambassadorship, Tommy Hilfiger will also launch a capsule collection create using the 20-year-old It girl style, her sense, her social media presence as the top supermodel in the world today. Launching in Fall 2016, the capsule will feature women’s sportswear, footwear and accessories, including watches and sunglasses, as well as a new fragrance, which celebrate Hadid’s unique take on modern style, fused with Hilfiger’s signature “classic American cool” heritage.
The third and last in this overview, is the collaboration between the Jenner sister and Topshop. Kendall and Kylie are back at Topshop with an exclusive swimwear collection. The sister premiered the collection one month ago with some hot sneak peek to their fans via Instagram and Snapchat . Available starting from next 9th June, the sexy new swimsuit line takes inspiration from the Jenner sisters’ LA lifestyle, with a collection of bikinis, swimsuits and cover-ups.
Very different brands have chosen the same collaboration path. Is it a trend, a new way of building communication strategies or models and social celebrities are becoming so influential to sign a turning point for the fashion system? We will wait and see.
