Food and beverage is cool: Adidas Originals and Coca-Cola are collaborating on a new special-edition, just like they did fourteen years ago.
The two partners are releasing the ClimaCool 1 model, inspired to the global soft drink brand’s colors. The same sneaker was launched in 2002 for the FIFA World Cup, and is revamped now for UEFA Euro 2016, with a new empowered range: the red version, similar to the 2002 edition, is paired with one silver and one black versions, to quench the growing sneakerheads’ thirst.
Red ClimaCool 1 shoes is available in early-June at select retailers, including colette in Paris and the colette e-shop, and the Coca-Cola Store. Targeting men, this 2016 version is teched-out for today, ensuring breathability thanks to its ventilating patented climacool.
“adidas and Coca-Cola originally introduced the shoe for the 2002 FIFA World Cup, and it sold out immediately. It was one of their most sought-after shoes ever introduced,” said Kate Dwyer, group director of worldwide licensing for Coca-Cola. “This year, adidas Originals is bringing it out of their archives and timing the release to coincide with football fever. We’re excited to collaborate with them again.”
