Altreforme, the design company known for its Made in Italy collections of contemporary high-end furniture and home accessories in aluminium, has launched a sensual new collaboration combining fashion and design.
Following its long-standing partnership with Moschino, it’s now the turn of the French cult designer of Turkish origin, Yazbukey. Home Sweet Home by Yazbukey – set to premiere at the upcoming Milan Design Week – is an original concept that transforms the designer’s creative, pop-trend accessories into alluring design objects. It includes a series of furniture elements oriented towards the feminine universe, celebrating its most iconic characteristics through an exploration of shapes and decorative glamour.
Full lips and sexy legs, precariously perched on 12″ high-heels, are just two examples of the visual suggestions offered by Yazbukey’s collection. Bette Davis Eyes, a make-up cabinet that pays tribute to movie star Bette Davis, definitely represents a masterpiece. Many other furniture pieces and accessories like the Lipstick vase, evoke Yazbukey’s sense of fashion in equal measure.
Renowned for her playful, creative plexiglas jewels and accessories collections, Yazbukey is admired for her skill at mixing pop references with feminine symbols.
She regularly collaborates with other brands and in her career she also worked with Margiela, Givenchy and Jeremy Scott. Recently Yazbukey created a make up line with Shu Uemura, surrealist-inspired evening clutches for Diane von Furstenberg, sunglasses for Linda Farrow as well as a candle for the ancient royal candle-maker Cire Trudon.
