The ultimate ‘black and white’ femme fatale, Betty Boop, has now her own personal shade of red thanks to the joint efforts of Pantone Colour Institute, King Features and Fleischer Studios. After months of research and testing, the team has developed a dramatic red colour to represent Betty Boop’s adventurous and youthful spirit, as certified by the global authority on colour.
The vibrant and passionate new Betty Boop Red is already the protagonist for a couple of imaginative collaborations revealed just in time to dye Valentine’s Day in a new shade. Global fashion designer Zac Posen revealed a signature Betty Boop dress collection in the exclusive Pantone “Betty Boop Red”, as featured in the March issue of Marie Claire and on sale from today on ZacPosen.com. In addition, a M·A·C Cosmetics lipstick collaboration will match the Pantone colour, introducing a Betty Boop twist to her iconic red pout, available from today on MACCosmetics.com.
The campaign will also be supported by original animated content starring Betty Boop in her first animated short in the Digital Age. The three-part animated short features for the first time ever Zac Posen as her cartoon co-star and puts the spotlight on the new Betty Boop Red Lipstick by M·A·C. The animation harks back to the original Fleischer Studios Betty Boop animation with a contemporary soundtrack designed to engage viewers and gradually introduce her signature vibrant red colour by Pantone.
This Valentine’s Day we can openly declare our love for Betty Boop Red collaborations!
