The last 3QT/20 Halo Licensing Survey report, rich with its 460+ cases of licensed collaborations worldwide, shows a constant pattern in that dynamic and varied scene, well known by our subscribers: the coexistence in the TOP10 chart of top-of-mind characters with unexpected and not so obvious other Intellectual Properties.

Aside from the evident Pokémon recent performances on the collabs scene, and the obvious Peanuts and Star Wars top positions, what immediately stands out in this chart is how Keith Haring is close to (thus, more frequently used in collaborations than) Mickey Mouse, or Hello Kitty.
Or that NBA is cutting its space into the licensed collaborations scene, reaching a number of cases in the quarter which puts NBA near a FMCG brand like Coca Cola.
A similar situtation was reported in the previous quarter, the 2ndQT/20, where the Californian band Grateful Dead reached the 4th position, right after Smiley at N.2 and Hello Kitty at N.3.
We must note that our observatory does not include cases aimed at children (these are nothing new), and those that offer little aspirational value or newsworthiness, nevertheless these facts measure the abolute innovative energy and creativity of the global licensed collaborations platform, and how inspirational can be to consistently track its trends, patterns, players, executions, and media results.
