Cafè OLED is an imaginative collaboration which has been put in place by LG Electronics USA and Pantone Color Institute. The pop-up format opened in New York on 12th July, to showcase how Perfect Black on an LG OLED TV creates a canvas for stunning color.
Integrating both human senses – sight and taste, this interactive experience is based on colourful pastries and drinks selected upon the Pantone summer 2019 colour palette, and created by Amirah Kassem, founder of The Flour Shop, glossy confectionery in Soho.
Kassem worked with Pantone to design a combination of colour and taste: Pink Peacock (based on beets and maple), Turmeric (turmeric and ginger), Aspen Gold (lemon and vanilla) and Pepper Stem (matcha and honey).
“We wanted to show in real life how on an LG OLED TV delivers a more realistic, superior quality image, through rich color and infinite contrast,” said Michelle Fernandez, senior director of home entertainment brand marketing at LG Electronics USA, in an interview to Adweek.
