Art seems to be the most followed trend by brands from all kind of style, from luxury to streetwear.
Just to name the last few: the ArtyCapucines capsule by Louis Vuitton, adidas and Lacoste with Keith Haring or Andy Warhol x Eastpak.
Now it’s again the turn of Vans, that following last year collaboration with the Van Gogh Museum is releasing another art-infused range of sneakers. The streetwear brand has indeed created a new capsule collection that celebrates the influential Mexican artist Frida Kahlo.
Known for her self-portraits and paintings inspired by Mexico, she notably utilized a naïve folk-art style to explore questions of identity, postcolonialism, gender, class, and race in Mexican society. Showcasing both recognizable and lesser-known artworks, this new sneakers collection brings the artist’s works to life on classic Vans silhouettes: the Sk8-Hi, Authentic, and Slip-On.
