IKEA and Sonos have revealed their exclusive capsule during Milan Design Week.

SYMFONISK, the name of the product line born from the collaboration between the Swedish democratic design giant and Sonos, the experts of the wireless home sound system, include two pieces both featuring WiFi speakers equipped with Sonos’ advanced audio tech.

The first item of the collaboration is a high-quality, multi-functional compact speaker that can connect to various “smart” devices. Perfectly compatible with Ikea furnishings, the shelf-speaker can be set either horizontally or vertically and can hold up to 3kg of weight, so that it can also be used as support for other objects, books and personal items.

The second product of the line is certainly the most innovative.
Inspired by fireplaces, the table lamp is set out to create an item which can combine sound and light into a single piece of furniture, according to moods.

Both the table lamp and shelf-speaker can be controlled through the Sonos app, and are also compatible with the brand’s other products.

This collaboration was born with the idea of creating products that can be perfectly integrated with the environment, almost invisible in everyday life, saving space, and eliminating unnecessary cables and elements.
Both products are available in black or white at a democratic price, in line with Ikea’s mission: 179 euros for the lamp and 99 euros for the shelf-speaker.
The new products of the Symfonisk line will be available from next August, both online and in all IKEA stores around the world.
