Milan Design Week is a maze of events and exhibitions that bring together designers, architects, students and professionals from all over the world every year. Among all the special projects and collaborations presented, one in particular caught our eye.
It is the collaboration between the renowned Dutch designer Marcel Wanders and Safilo, the Italian eyewear group’s flagship brand. The collection, evocatively named “The Unseen Collection”, combines design and comfort in ultra-light, high-tech frames.
The collection has been organised in different variants, each based on contrasts between the outer color and the Wanders’ signature patterns, intricately engraved into the metallic inside surfaces. Wanders has chosen to place the most characteristic details in the least visible place, giving the glasses both a distinctive design and a personal, intimate touch – an elegant way of connecting with the creativity and beauty of our innermost selves.
The new line “Safilo by Marcel Wanders” was presented at Safilo’s Showroom in Milan.
